Connect your site
Three steps, about five minutes. You'll need to be able to log in to your WordPress dashboard as an administrator.
Nothing changes when you connect. Connecting lets Kepteo read your site and prepare drafts. Every change still waits for your approval.
1. Create your account
Go to Start free trial and enter your name, email and a password. Your 14-day trial starts straight away.
Remember that email and password. You'll use the same ones inside WordPress in step 3, so there's no code to copy.
2. Install the plugin
Sign-up gives you the Kepteo plugin as a .zip file. It isn't in the WordPress plugin search, so you upload it yourself:
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the Kepteo
.zipfile and press Install Now. - Press Activate. A Kepteo item appears in your left-hand menu.
Kepteo needs WordPress 6.6 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer. It works on any host.
3. Sign in inside WordPress
Open the Kepteo menu and sign in with the same email and password you just created. That links the site to your account.
Your password is used once to link the site. The plugin doesn't store it, and every message after that is signed instead.
Keep the sign-up page open. It notices the connection on its own and takes you to your dashboard.
A good first request is something small you can check at a glance, like “Make the homepage headline a little bigger.”
Which page builder do I have?
You don't need to know. Kepteo detects it page by page and edits the content the way that builder stores it. It supports the block editor (Gutenberg), the classic editor, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, Bricks, Oxygen, Avada (Fusion Builder) and SiteOrigin.
For Breakdance, Brizy, Visual Composer Website Builder and Themify, Kepteo recognises the builder and doesn't edit those pages, so it can't break them.
Wording a request
Plainly. “Change the phone number to 0300-1234567 everywhere.” “The WhatsApp button on the contact page is broken.” If you know where the thing is, say so. That helps more than anything else.
What happens after you ask
A restore point is saved, the change is drafted on your real page, and you get the before-and-after. Approve it, ask for a tweak, or reject it.
When it does the wrong thing
If it's still a draft, reject it or ask for a tweak. Your live site hasn't changed. If you already approved it, open History and press Undo.
What it won't do
- Publish anything without your approval.
- Install a plugin or theme unless you ask.
- Read your wp-config or .env files.
- Write files on your server.
- Tell you it did something it didn't.
